The Association

netShelter as a non-profit association wants provide a learning environment for BGP, OSPF and other cool networking stuff, even between multiple locations and subnetworks which is protected to prevent problems for others, hosting and network services for open source (non profit) projects, so they can focus on their own project and leave the networking fun to a group of people that like to do this, sharing knowledge by technical blogs, papers and organizing events for the community and even to our sponsors and maintaining a large network pooling all resources into a single platform with an professional and enterprise grade deployment.

Legal information

netShelter is a legal association founded in the Netherlands by notary. The association has been registered with the dutch Chambre of Commerse under the ID 80557791. netShelter is also registered at the Dutch tax office (Belastingdienst) under RSIN number 861715743 and with VAT ID NL861715743B01.

In addition the association has requested an ANBI (Tax deductable non profit organisation for the common good) status, this will allow sponsors and donors to use it as an offical tax write off.

Origins and founders

The association has been originally started as an idea by Joey Koenig (netShelter-DE) and Bart Vrancken (MLaBnet), which both where working on the same idea in 2019 and combined there efforts into the netShelter association and the as41047 foundation.
